Y’all. My child turned ONE two weeks ago. It seems like yesterday I was sitting on my couch writing his birth story.
Can you believe this?
And is it just me or he getting cuter with age?
We didn’t do anything big for his first, but it was super nice to have family and neighbors over. Also, I’m gonna be honest and admit that I was pretty proud of myself for these alligator cupcakes. Pinterest win. Ray approved as well.
Two of the biggest things that have made this first year survivable are a really good job and really good daycare. I am beyond grateful for both.
I know I’ve been slacking on the blog thing recently, but being a full time working mama…just being a mama, period, is a lot of work. Especially when these small people become exceedingly mobile, curious and fearless all at once. Oh, and I should also add, opinionated.
Sunday used to be my blog day, but now Sunday evenings are filled with work week prep, perpetual loads of laundry and praying I actually filled my car with gas like I thought I did.
On the upside, Ray has finally committed (fingers crossed) to sleeping though the night. This has given me a new found joy. God really did create us with a need for rest.
As of late, its super hot here, but we’re enjoying the pool at our gym, snow cones (snowballs, as they say in Louisiana) and walks around the neighborhood despite the sweat beads dripping down our faces.
Its little things that make life most spectacular. Like this awesome ball pit that Ray LOVES. Thank you Bachers!
Hope you find yourself enjoy the start of summer as well. Cheers!
