Since Fall of 2020 is just a super weird one, I’ve thought long and hard about what to recommend for your reading, or if you’re like me listening shelf. Here’s the scoop I’ve landed on.
1. For your soul and mind:
Get out of Your Head by Jennie Allen
I was hooked on page zero which read, “Be transformed by the renewal of your mind. Romans 12:2, That means it’s possible.”
This book was kinda where scripture meets neuroscience, meets your thought life and I found it to be SO good, especially during this covid time while many of us are either stuck at home with littles (or bigs for that matter) or fighting anxiety about them being back at school!
In the book Jennie reminds us how important our thought lives are. “When we think new thoughts, we physically alter our brains” she reminds us on page 43. She also gives us practical ways we can control our thought lives though out the book.
If you haven’t already, this is a definite add on to your Fall reads!
2. For your entertainment:
If you want some style advice, the kind that is like “you do you and don’t look back,” Iris is your gal.
I am LOVING this book. Its part coffee table book with lovely pictures and thick pages, part quote book, part interview with Iris about her rise to fame and fashion. It’s a light easy read.
May I recommend pairing it with a cozy couch, a glass of wine AFTER kids are down?
3. For getting practical
It just joined the NYT Best Seller List and I’m happy to say, I know why: The Lazy Genius Way: Embrace what matters, ditch what doesn’t and get stuff done!
Kendra’s book is FULL of practical advice on how to organize your life so you can prioritize what matters most to YOU. She gives her own tips, while also encouraging the reader to adapt them for themselves. She is a big one size doesn’t fit all girl and understands that everyone will have different priorities, preferences and needs. I’ve certainly enjoyed listening along to her very practical advice from daily wardrobe selection tips, to dinner tips to home organization tips and I think you will too!
Well that’s a wrap friends, cheers!
Hope you’re enjoy the pumpkin spice cold brew, unless of course its actually Fall where you in live, in which case you can probably enjoy warm coffee, and I am jealous!
Also if you liked this post, you might enjoy my 3 podcasts to start your day post too!
We are still hanging in there, waiting for number two to join us in December, which is when things are REALLY gonna get fun.
Until next time!
