I just got home from a week long work trip yesterday. Lucky for me, the location for this year was Texas, where I left my heart. We stayed on the River Walk in San Antonio. If only we had more time to take in this view and play!
Instead, most of our days were filled with meetings and/or representing our company at a nationwide physical therapy conference.
Sitting though days of meetings is always a challenge for me. I mean there’s a reason I don’t have a desk job. But this year they were especially rough as baby Rose’s new sport of choice is rock climbing, using my ribs for hand and foot holds. Ouch!
Despite the meetings and exhaustion, I feel blessed to have a job I enjoy. I work for a company that makes amazing rehab technology, ultimately improving lives. Below is a picture of our super cool booth.
Something’s in the company water in the Southeast. Our Florida, Texas and Louisiana (thats me) reps are all preggars. Florida was so close to popping, she didn’t make the conference, but the Texas rep and I got a picture together at our team dinner.
Unfortunately, people outside of Louisiana don’t understand the “Caution, baby inside” king-cake shirt. Most people thought it was a giant donut, but I had one co-worker who guessed that it was a utterus. Yikes! That is not a healthy uterus. Just sayin.
The shirt has since been retired from wearing outside the state of Louisiana. And some people really need to try king cake, because yum.
Since San Antonio is so very close to Austin, I was able to swing by and see my bestie Sunday morning. She forced me go to the TOMs store which sells sunglasses, shoes and coffee. Brilliant.
Now, I don’t know if it was the coffee buzz, the preggar hormones or some other great excuse, but I left with these new shoes on my feet.
All the same, I figure any day that begins with a pair of rooster shoes must be a good one.
I couldn’t resist a touristy photo op with baby Rose. I’m officially 29 weeks and baby Rose is growing and growing. Either that or I ate way too much Tex-Mex. I choose to blame the baby.
And hey, look what came in the mail for him/her.
Eeek, a Catan onesie! I got it from HooklineNsticher on Etsy. Couldn’t love it more. Now that I’m back home, the boy and I will continue chipping away at the nursery, updates to follow.
Also, I sure did miss the boy and Bourbon. So happy to see them again.
Have a great week!
