We just got back from our annual Michigan trip to visit CJ’s family. This year we went on a road trip up North to Mackinac Island. Anyone know what Mackinac is famous for?
How about a clue:
Yep. That would be the fudge tower I built from our purchases.
Anyone know where Mackinac is?.
How about another clue:
Basically its this super cute little island where no cars are allowed (they’d take up all the fudge shop’s space).
Everything is super cute. And touristy, but definitely worth a trip.
Even the trash cans are cute:
Seriously, where else do they put flower planters on top of the trash can?
What to do besides eat fudge? Well if you have eaten so much fudge you can’t walk, you can do what we did and go on a carriage ride around the island.
The horses are pretty strong. They carried about 30 people all around the Island.
This is Arch rock – one of our stops.
Everything at Mackinac is so pretty.
After our carriage ride, CJ and I did a bike ride around the Island – which was exactly 8.2 miles…so probably not enough to burn the fudge calories.
I’m not sure how safe it is to take pictures in manual mode while riding a bike…
but I didn’t crash.
Half way around CJ insisted we take a break so he could do what boys do best:
Pretend to be a Samurai…
True talent ladies and gentleman.
Meanwhile I enjoyed the scenery.
At the end of our little trip we bought some of this to wind down:
It was a bit sweeter than my go to – which is a cab, but it was still nice and tart. Mmmmm.
After all that fudge we are doing detox week beginning with BBQ beans and kale from Eat Live Run.
Hope everyone else had a great 4th!

Mackinac Island sounds like a neat place to visit. And you guys are every bit as cute as the Island. Glad you had such a good time there.

Mackinac Island is so cute! I’m telling Kenny that we definitely have to go there some day. And that fudge definitely needs to GET IN MY BELLY 🙂

LOL yes yall should visit. I was actually thinking about you and wondering how you travel GF…Seems tricky, but props for sticking with it!!
And yes you should get some fudge – unless it has gluten? Then you should make up a new recipe and put it on your blog 🙂
