THE GOOD:
Not long ago CJ asked me to make some cookies for him to take to work. Since I’m currently in limbo of getting my OT license transferred from Texas to Louisiana, I have some extra time on my hands. Obviously the cookies needed to incorporate an oil and gas theme since that’s the type of company he works for. So I went on a search at the local craft store for the perfect cookie cutter.
Can you believe Wilton thought this was a “go team” cookie cutter?
Looks like a little oil rig to me.
So I baked up a million little oil rig cookies using this recipe…
*Side note: Before I baked them, I cut the top flat to make it look more like an oil rig
And then I iced them with Wilton’s royal icing recipe. First I used white icing; then, using Wilton tip #3 and an icing bag, I made two “x”s and outlined them with blue icing to make them look like a rig…
…and of course I put them on a window sill to take great pictures of them in the sunlight.
CJ said they went pretty fast at work, but his coworkers were confused as to whether they were a “drill rig” or a “jacket structure”… whatever that means.
Leave it to engineers to analyze a sugar cookie.
THE BAD:
I was at my computer uploading my cookie pictures when I heard a big crash and four little paws scurrying down the hall…
THE UGLY:
This is what I found:
Cutting board knocked off the window, no cookies (there were 5) and a broken plate.
Its cool. That was just one of our Anthro dessert plates, which was pretty pricey, even on sale.
The culprit was caught blue bearded.
Don’t let that pathetic face fool you. There was no denying who did this one.
And there ya have it. The good, the bad and the ugly of sugar cookies.
Happy and safe 4th of July everyone!!!

Good idea. Never thought of using that for a rig. BTW, they probably meant a “jack-up” not “jacket” 😉
