Hi, I’m Brittany!
A ginger, working mama and wife. I wrote this blog for you mamas in need of a margarita, a nap and a day trip to the beach. And, bonus, I created a super fun store for gingers called Rise of the Gingers. It’s a great place to treat yo self if you have red hair, or grab a gift for your favorite ginger!!!
Here’s a secret:
I’m a mama who DOESN’T have it all together. I’ve brought my child to daycare when they were closed (more than once). Occasionally, I skip over a few pages in the Pete the Cat book in a desperate effort to expedite bed time. And all-organic, homemade dinners only occur on my Pinterest feed. And, think, this is just what I’m willing to confess in writing.
Trust me, mama, you’re in good company here.
So grab yourself a cup of coffee, wine or even a shot of vodka and enjoy. I think you’ll find plenty of your own stories in the midst of mine. And hopefully we’ll both find some humor and solace along the way.
School and day job stuff:
I have an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M (gig’em) and a masters degree from University of Texas Health Science Center in Occupational Therapy.
For many years I worked as a Pediatric Occupational therapist. I consider all the families who I had the privilege to journey alongside during this time one of my biggest life blessings.
Currently, I work as a medical sales rep for a pretty cool company that’s helping to change people’s lives. Our device helps people who have sustained strokes and traumatic brain injuries. Despite my huge territory and lots of travel, I am humbled to be in this position. I’m amazed at the neuroplasticity of the brain and the bodies’ incredible ability to recover.
My “Why” for this Blog
When I became a mom in 2017, I was shocked by how much I didn’t know. And I had read ALL the books in preparation! Since then, I’ve used writing and this blog as a way to help other mamas know that they are not alone in learning this new landscape of life.
If you’re new, I recommend checking out my top 4 posts for new mamas!
