DIY table numbers on the blog today!
Confession: I am the girl that wants to DIY EVERYTHING.
This has led to some humbling fails.
For example that boat cake I tried to make for my husband’s birthday:
But on those great occasions when DIY projects succeed, that my friend is cause for celebration.
For example these DIY table numbers:
They were my morning craft, inspired by the chalk board table numbers I made for my own wedding.
I made them as I snacked one of my favorite long lost snacks. Its been years since I’ve made these, but they were every bit as good addictive as I remember.
Yes. HEAB’s Oaties. I made mine with Earth Balance Coconut blend peanut butter (HAVE YOU TRIED THIS STUFF?), dried cherries and chocolate chips.
Don’t worry, I have since enrolled in Wilton’s cake decorating classes at the local craft store. You just wait for next year’s boat cake.
In the mean time, I’ll enjoy paper crafting.
To make 20 mini wine bottle table numbers you will need:
- A Cricut or Cricut Mini (its what I use and its about 1/4 the cost of a cricut). Click HERE to see their website and learn more.
- Cricut France Cartridge (only 9.99 or annother cartridge with a wine bottle shape)
- Paper: 5 pieces of quality black card stock, 2 pieces of white or cream card-stock
- 10 wine corks cut in half horizontally, with a slit to hold the card-stock numbers
How to assemble:
- Place 4 wine bottles (from France Cartridge) per page on your Cricut layout. Size: 1.8 inch W, 6.8 inch H
- Cut 5 pages of wine bottles (4 per page)
- Place an image from craft room basic to be the wine lable. This can be different than the shape I choose. You could use an oval or rectangle or any shape that floats your boat. Adjust size to fit within your bottle (may vary). My shape size was: 1.5 inch W, 2.3 inch H, Autofil your image. You will need 20 total.
- Use the bottom of your black cardstock to layout and cut table numbers. I used the basic numbers. Size: 1.6 inch W, 2.4 inch H, cut numbers 1-20.
- Glue or use double side tape to put wine label on bottle, then number onto label. Place card-stock bottles in cut corks.
- Put them out on the table at your wedding/upcoming event
- Enjoy the cuteness

I totally thought “boat” when I saw the cake, and I LOVE the table numbers. So cute. I’m a DIY’er as well. Crafting is my happy place…with a side of Oaties. 😉
