Y’all, Friday was my 31st birthday.
I can hardly believe I’m into my thirties, but here I am so, might as well embrace it. As one of my friends said, “you survived turning 30, so turning 31 should be easy.” I suppose 🙂
The boy brought me a few great flavors of “buntletts” from Nothing Bunt Cakes when he came home from work, which was followed by a fancy dinner where I got some killer beef braised short rib. Ahh, you can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas outta the girl.
I was pretty excited to have Friday off work. Originally, I had a million things to do between work and personal life, however thanks to a certain baby who is enjoying my bladder as a mattress, I was up at 3:30 AM. I’m up a lot at nights now days. Actually, I’ve been up at nights through this entire pregnancy, even the week before I knew I was pregnant, I was up at night peeing. My doctor told me it would get better in my second trimester. Turns out, she’s a liar.
Anyhow, I was up, and although I can usually fall right back asleep, I was wide awake this time. So I took the opportunity to start knocking things off my to-do list. Guess what? By 10 AM I had nothing to do. This was a welcomed birthday surprise, so I took myself to Starbucks, got my free birthday mocha and came home to curl up to a pile of books. I suppose since I’m getting older, I should make an attempt at getting wiser as well.
I’ve read (and/or listened to) so many books lately. I think its part of my nesting process.
Speaking of nesting, we got this little gem in for the nursery this past week.
Yes, a sheep ottoman! He’s so cute, I can hardly take it! Unfortunately, Bourbon doesn’t like him and has made this clear by trying to bite his face off.
As long as Bourbon doesn’t get the best of him, he’ll be a perfect sheep representative to our Settlers of Catan nursery theme. He can be found here on Amazon. Of course the full nursery reveal is still yet to come…patience! P.S. I’m LOVING our amazon prime.
Today I’m officially 27 weeks preggars, which means its the last week of my 2nd trimester! I’m so confused. Where did all those months go??
Baby Rose is going to be here in no time. And still doesn’t have a day care. All the same, I’ve decided to stop stressing about it. We’re on a few waiting lists and something is going to happen. Or not, and Bourbon will watch baby Rose. Just kidding. Something will work out.
I wrote about how I’m dealing with belly rubber’s last week. And that belly has continued on, its like someone poured miracle grow on it! I’ve decided to just own it with some great pun shirts like this one.
Bahahaha.
The baby really does love kicking. It actually does P90 x most nights (just the baby, not me), so will probably be in great shape when he/she arrives.
But for real, I’ve been using this Skinny & Co. coconut oil for some relief on my poor belly skin and its worked wonders. If any to-be mama’s out there are experiencing belly skin sensitivity I highly recommend it.
As demonstrated by Bourbon, we are taking it easy today.
The weather is beautiful, the boy is out for a jog, and I’m contemplating making these homemade cinnamon rolls from the Pioneer Woman. We are going to enjoy the game with some stellar neighbors tonight. And by enjoy the game, I mean I’m going to eat guacamole and chicken taco dip with the game on in the background. Hope you’re having a great Sunday too!
